ABOUT OUR EGGS

Our eggs come from free-ranging chickens! These chickens consume a diet that consists of NON-GMO feed, grass, and insects. They are let out every morning, and roam throughout the farm all day! They enjoy the beautiful sunshine, as well as the many grasses provided on our farm, and insects of all kinds! They are also offered NON-GMO feed regularly.

We have a variety of different types of laying hens, from Americanas to White Brahmas. They lay all sorts of colors, blues, greens, browns, and even pink!

OUR MEAT BIRDS

Our meat birds enjoy the beautiful outdoors for 4-5 out of the 8 weeks they are alive. They start off inside of a barn where they are provided with nice bedding, fresh water, and NON-GMO feed! Once they are older and able to sustain the outdoors, they are then let out in the morning to free-range the pastures of Spring Creek Farms.

Once let outside they are protected by our trusty Livestock Guardian Dogs as well as poultry netting. These helps to keep the coyotes, raccoons, skunks, and any other predators from taking your food! Our birds are offered a HUGE hoop building to protect them from the elements if they so choose to use it. We use the term TRULY FREE-RANGE because our chickens TRULY have the freedom to run, scratch, peck, feed and socialize the pastures of our farm!

Who says Cornish Cross Chickens can’t free range??

The meat chickens we raise at Spring Creek Farms are called Cornish Cross. This is the same breed of chicken that is used in commercial chicken production. But that is where the similarities stop.

While conventional systems keep these chickens confined to a building, feeding them as much grain as possible to produce as much meat as fast as possible, our birds spend much of their time chasing insects, foraging for seeds and grasses, and getting exercise!

Sunshine and a diverse diet are what make our chickens a healthier and happier option! Plus, it produces a much tastier and well textured meat…no mushy meat here!
